Summit Materials assembles regional aggregate, cement and ready-mix businesses under one corporate roof, and its January 2024 acquisition of Argos USA moved it into the top five US cement producers. On the ground you normally deal with the local operating company rather than with the Summit name. The Argos deal matters mainly because it changed who owns the cement terminals along the Gulf and the Southeast.
