Breaking out a concrete fence post footing means cutting it into liftable sections first — a sledge on an uncut slab mostly bounces. Saw-cut the perimeter, then break from an edge inward. Dry cutting generates respirable crystalline silica, regulated by OSHA at a 50 µg/m³ PEL, so use water or a HEPA-equipped saw.
