Polyaspartic coating

A fast-curing polyurea-family coating used over concrete floors, offering UV stability and rapid return to service, often as the topcoat over an epoxy base.

What does polyaspartic coating mean?

Polyaspartics can cure in hours rather than days, which is why one-day garage floor systems exist, and they hold color under sunlight far better than epoxy. The short working time demands experienced applicators, since mistakes cannot be corrected. Like epoxy, they depend entirely on surface preparation and are vulnerable to moisture vapor from below.

In practice

The one-day garage floor coatings advertised to homeowners are typically a polyaspartic system with flake broadcast into it.
