Siloxane sealer
A penetrating water-repellent sealer with larger molecules than silane, commonly blended with silane and widely used on residential flatwork and masonry.
What does siloxane sealer mean?
Siloxanes do not penetrate as deeply as silanes but are less volatile and effective on a wider range of substrate porosities, including masonry and pavers. Silane-siloxane blends are the workhorse product for residential exterior sealing, balancing penetration, durability, and cost. Like all penetrating products, they repel water without changing appearance and without providing a wear surface.
In practice
The exterior concrete and paver sealers sold at contractor supply houses are most often silane-siloxane blends.
